We are providing up to 510 hours of free accredited English language lessons for migrant workers, their families and anyone from a Minority Ethnic Background living in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area. If you speak little or no English, you are eligible for these classes. Young people between 14 and 17 years of age may also be eligible.
Our classes afford migrant workers and their families opportunities to learn English language skills and information about Northern Ireland society. You will meet other new arrivals, with similar backgrounds, experiences and goals, and you may make new friends. All of these together will help you settle successfully in Derry-Londonderry. English language skills are also very important if you wish to work in NI or apply for settlement.
Our English Language Program is delivered by an approved service provider and classes are taught by teachers who are trained to teach English to speakers of other languages.
