Patrick Yu

Patrick Yu has been a pioneering force in advocating for racial justice and integration over many years. He was instrumental in establishing the Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic Minorities (NICEM), NI’s first organisation dedicated to the integration of migrants. He also played a key role in the development of the Racial Equality Strategy and was pivotal in setting up the All-Party Group for Minority Ethnic Communities. His efforts extend to the Northern Ireland Council for Racial Equality (NICRE), furthering his vision for a unified community. Patrick Yu has been a vital voice among trade unions, representing and fighting for the rights of the migrant community. His work transcends regional boundaries, influencing changes in legislation from European human rights laws to race equality laws. Patrick Yu is regarded not just as an advocate for change but a change-maker who has had a significant impact on communities across Northern Ireland and beyond.
