AN invitation is being extended to the community and voluntary sector to a roundtable hosted by North West Migrants Forum in collaboration with Ulster University Belfast on Friday May 24, 10am-1pm.
The event will be an opportunity to question and discuss the role of our elected representatives, particularly prospective Westminster candidates.
We aim to develop a manifesto for election candidates and an accompanying pledge that will be launched on October 1 in the Long Gallery at Stormont. The pledge will encourage our elected representatives to challenge the hostile environment, be mindful of rhetoric which undermines community cohesion and contributes to anti-immigration sentiment, to mainstream racial equality, and to confront racist intimidation and hate crime.
We would love to have you with us on the day. Refreshments and a lunch will be provided.
