AFTER months of nominations the final shortlists for this year’s Advancing Race Equality Awards will be revealed starting from next week.
The six judges spent time over the festive period sorting through the dozens of entries sent in by members of the public across ten different categories.
After reading each submission carefully, the judging panel has now decided which candidates will go forward to the glitzy ceremony in the fabulous Ebrington Hotel on March 6.
The first shortlist will be unveiled on Monday evening with one to follow each week day after that.
Migrants Forum Communications Officer Conor Sharkey said, “We are delighted to finally be publishing our shortlists. It has been a long process and we can’t thank enough our judges who took time out of their Christmas break to sift through the many entries we received.
“It was a tough task to get it down to three in each category when so much amazing work is being done to break down barriers, encourage cohesion and bring about a better society.
“Thank you to everyone who nominated and if your choice didn’t make the cut this time, there is always next year.”
Tickets for this year’s event will go on sale on Monday morning. They are priced at just £30 each however there is a limited number available so the advice is to buy early.
Set to host the Advancing Race Equality Awards is writer and activist Chantelle Lunt (pictured below) who will travel from Liverpool for the ceremony.
Looking forward to the evening of celebration, Ms Lunt said, “I’m absolutely delighted to be returning to the Advancing Race Equality Awards and to be teaming up with Lilian and the North West Migrants Forum once again for such an inspiring event.”
