Equity Manifesto Pledge

A public commitment to dismantling racism across the North West and the island of Ireland.

WHY PLEDGE?

From statements to action

Institutions across the North West asked for a roadmap to embed race equity. The manifesto is our answer—a co-written commitment from community leaders, youth organisers, and allies determined to change systems.

Northern Ireland’s politicians urged to ‘Take the Pledge’

LAST summer saw Northern Ireland and parts of the UK gripped by a wave of racial hatred, Islamophobia and other forms of intolerance, a wave which reached a violent and disturbing crescendo over the summer period.

In the wake of the discord, the North West Migrants Forum recognised the need for politicians to respond and condemn these incidents and take action to uphold the human rights of all who live in here.

To assist them in that response, we have developed a manifesto in collaboration with a number of partner organisations and created a pledge whereby elected representatives can commit to upholding justice for all in order to create a truly equitable standard of living for everyone who calls Northern Ireland home.

We hope that our politicians endorse this manifesto, take the equity pledge and display it proudly in their constituency offices.
